Welcome to Cocked Hat's web site. The site contains information about our company and I hope you will spend some time and look around. The contacts page provides a quick and easy way of getting in touch with us, so if there is anything else you need, let us know and we will be happy to try and help. By way of an introduction, this page gives a little of the history of the company (and an explanation of our name!) but please feel free to follow the links to the other pages which have more detailed information. Cocked Hat Farm Foods Ltd was established in 1972 as a trading company dealing in poultry products. It was started by my Father and has grown from being two partners in one small office to an international food trading Company. Despite the expansion, Cocked Hat is still a family company and is owned and run by myself and my brother William. From its start in Ripon, the Company quickly expanded and in 1990 the Company formed an Export Division and established an office in France. We are often asked about the source of the company's rather unusual name. The explanation is very simple - the name was given by my father who lives on a farm called Cocked Hat Farm. The farm is situated in the Yorkshire Dales, not far from Ripon, and about 200 years ago it used to be an Inn with the same name. Thank you for visiting our site.
